How many wallets are in each tier (wallet and PnL distribution)
Call the cohort summary once per tier and read n_wallets; it counts the wallets with at least one open position, and the heatmap's totals give the denominator.
GET /v1/hl-cohorts/segments/{cohort}/summary answers it one tier per call: its n_wallets is the wallets of that
tier holding at least one open position at the newest snapshot. Call it once per tier, 12 times for the size ladder
or 13 for the realized-PnL ladder; /segments lists the tiers and their
bounds, and the heatmap's totals.n_wallets is the number of wallets with any open position. The full parameter
list is on Cohort summary.
Quick answer
shrimp is the smallest account tier.
# how many wallets in the smallest account tier hold an open position now
curl -H "X-API-Key: $VIKE_API_KEY" \
"https://data.vike.io/v1/hl-cohorts/segments/shrimp/summary?axis=size"Example response
Captured from the live API on 2026-10-24 at 17:12 UTC.
104,095 shrimp wallets (accounts under $1k) held 224,878 positions. The same call for whale
returned 231 wallets, and the heatmap's totals.n_wallets was 137,770 wallets with any open
position, so shrimp were 76% of them. pct_wallets_in_profit is a fraction: 38% of shrimp wallets
were net in profit on their open positions.

The tier list to loop over. /segments returns every tier with its bounds and slug; the size tiers are the 12 rows with
axis size.

Counts cover open positions only, one call per tier
/segments is a fixed catalogue of tiers and bounds and carries no counts. n_wallets on the
summary counts only wallets holding an open position at the newest snapshot, so an idle account is
in no tier. A full distribution is 12 calls (size) or 13 (pnl). The heatmap's total comes from a
precomputed figure that can trail the summaries by a few minutes, so the tiers may not add up to it
exactly.
