Perps

Cross-venue funding, spreads, open interest and long/short positioning across the perp venues Vike ingests.

4 tools over perpetual futures that compare venues: perp_funding, perp_spreads, perp_open_interest and perp_long_short read a funding rate, a price, how much is open or how a venue's traders lean, per exchange, across the perp venues Vike ingests.

They answer where and how much, never who, and that is not a gap in the catalogue. No centralised exchange publishes per-account order flow, so there is no CEX counterpart to the wallet-level tools to be built. Hyperliquid settles on chain, so every position and fill is public and attributable to an address: ranking traders by realized PnL, naming the wallet behind a share card, one wallet's fills and funding, the risk-metric leaderboard, liquidations and builder codes are on the Hyperliquid page, and the cohorts on HL Cohorts.

perp_funding and perp_spreads take no venue parameter

perp_funding and perp_spreads accept symbol and nothing else — you cannot restrict the comparison to a venue, and the schema enumerates none. The exchange arrives in the response instead (long_exchange / short_exchange, buy_exchange / sell_exchange). Nor is the comparison CEX-only: Hyperliquid is one of the venues ranked, its hourly funding normalised to daily alongside the eight-hourly CEX rates. perp_open_interest and perp_long_short do take an optional exchange.

perp_funding

1 credit. Perpetual funding rates, in two modes selected by whether you pass symbol.

ParameterTypeDefaultNotes
symbolstring—One symbol, e.g. BTC. Omit for the cross-venue arbitrage ranking.
  • With symbol — current funding for that asset on every venue that lists it: the raw per-interval rate, the funding interval in hours, the next funding timestamp, and 24h perp notional per venue. Only venues Vike still polls for funding, and that printed within the last hour, are listed. A halted venue is left out rather than shown with a stale rate and zero volume: Coinbase International halted its perpetuals on 2026-10-01. A venue Vike has funding for but no ticker feed also shows vol_24h_usd 0, so a zero there is not by itself a halt. The arbitrage ranking (no symbol) reads the same polled venues.
  • Without symbol — pre-ranked cross-venue funding-arbitrage rows, normalised to daily percent and filtered to spreads of at least 0.3%. Each row names both legs: long_exchange + long_daily_pct, short_exchange + short_daily_pct, and spread_daily_pct.

The normalisation is the point of the second mode. A single-symbol row gives you the rate per funding interval, not annualised, and the interval is not the same on every venue — so comparing two raw rates directly is a units error. The arb mode does that conversion for you.

Arb mode returns the top 5 rows and the count is fixed in the handler — there is no limit parameter to raise, and no way to page past the fifth opportunity.

perp_spreads

1 credit. Cross-venue price gaps on perpetual futures — symbols where the cheapest and the most expensive venue differ by at least 0.5%.

ParameterTypeDefaultNotes
symbolstring—Symbol to compare. Omit for the full matrix.

Returns per row: buy_exchange + buy_price, sell_exchange + sell_price, and spread_pct. The rows are pre-ranked, so cite them directly rather than re-sorting. Outliers more than 400 bps from the cross-venue median are already filtered out — those are typically unit-mismatch listings such as 1000SHIB, where two venues quote different contract sizes and the "spread" is an artefact.

One trap worth knowing: symbol filters the ranking, it does not query the symbol. The handler computes the top spreads first and then keeps the rows matching symbol, so a symbol that is not already among the widest gaps comes back empty — which means "not one of the biggest spreads right now", never "this symbol has no spread".

perp_open_interest

1 credit. How much open interest a perpetual-futures symbol carries on each venue Vike polls — Aster, Binance, Bitget, Bybit, Hyperliquid, KuCoin and OKX — as a latest snapshot or an hourly series.

ParameterTypeDefaultNotes
symbolstringrequiredThe base asset: BTC, not BTCUSDT.
exchangestring—One venue, lower case. Omit for all.
hoursinteger—Omit for the latest print per venue; 1 to 168 for an hourly series.

oi_usd is USD notional: open contracts times the mark price when the venue was polled. It is not a contract count and not a coin amount, so figures from different venues add up, and a USD figure moves with price even when no position was opened or closed.

Without hours the answer is {symbol, venues, stale_venues, unit}; each venue row has exchange, oi_usd, ts (UTC) and age_s. Venues are polled roughly every 5 to 8 minutes, so an age_s of a few minutes is normal. A venue whose newest print is more than an hour old is listed under stale_venues with its last timestamp, not in venues, so a halted feed is never added into a total. Coinbase International halted its perpetuals on 2026-10-01 and is no longer polled; it appears under stale_venues while its last print is under 30 days old, and not at all after that.

With hours the answer is {symbol, interval: "1h", hours, series, unit}: per venue, a list of [hour, oi_usd] pairs holding the last print in each UTC hour. The first hour is partial. A symbol no venue lists comes back with empty lists and a note, never zeros. Coverage differs by venue, so a symbol can be missing from some.

perp_long_short

1 credit. How the traders of a venue lean on one perpetual-futures symbol: the long/short figures Binance, Bybit, Gate and OKX publish, with what each one counts spelled out.

ParameterTypeDefaultNotes
symbolstringrequiredThe base asset: BTC, not BTCUSDT.
exchangestring—One venue, lower case. Omit for all.
hoursinteger—Omit for the latest print per venue; 1 to 168 for an hourly series.

The four venues do not count the same thing, and every row says which in basis:

  • binance — top traders, by positions: Binance's top-trader long/short position ratio.
  • okx and gate — top traders, by accounts: each venue's top-trader long/short account ratio.
  • bybit — all accounts: Bybit's account ratio over every account, not a top-trader cut.

What counts as a top trader is each venue's own definition; Vike stores the published figure and does not recompute it. So compare a venue with itself over time, and do not average across bases. long_share and short_share are fractions of 1 and sum to 1; long_short_ratio is long divided by short, so above 1 means long-heavy.

Without hours the answer is {symbol, venues, stale_venues, unit}; each venue row has exchange, long_share, short_share, long_short_ratio, ts (UTC), age_s and basis. The venues publish one print per 5 minutes; one whose newest print is more than an hour old is listed under stale_venues instead. With hours the answer is {symbol, interval: "1h", hours, series, basis, unit}: per venue, [hour, long_short_ratio] pairs holding the last print in each UTC hour.

Coverage is about 40 major symbols per venue. Any other symbol returns empty lists and a note, never zeros. Hyperliquid and BingX are polled for this series but return nothing, so they never appear.
