Hot newcomers: huge ROI on few trades, and why not to follow them
Sort the leaderboard by expectancy (PnL per closed trade) with a one-trade floor to surface wallets that made a fortune on a handful of trades, then read their whole record from /trades/summary.
GET /v1/hyperliquid/leaderboard answers it in one call: sort=expectancy with min_trades=1 ranks wallets by
realized PnL per closed trade, so the top is the wallets that made the most on the fewest trades.
GET /v1/hyperliquid/wallets/{address}/trades/summary with window=all then shows a wallet's whole recorded history:
how many trades it has ever closed and when its first one was. The full parameter lists are on
Leaderboard and
Wallet trade statistics.
Quick answer
Sort by PnL per trade and drop the trade floor to one.
# the biggest PnL per closed trade over 7 days, wallets with as little as one trade
curl -H "X-API-Key: $VIKE_API_KEY" \
"https://data.vike.io/v1/hyperliquid/leaderboard?window=7d&sort=expectancy&min_trades=1&limit=5"Example response
Captured from the live API on 2026-10-24 at 17:22 UTC, trimmed to 3 of 5 rows.
The top two each closed one trade this week, for $4.23M and $0.63M, and both accounts show no equity left (account_value
0.0, so pnl_pct is null). There is nothing left to follow. The third made $3.61M on 6 trades, and pnl_pct puts
that at 301% of its current equity.

Why not sort by ROI? sort=roi divides window PnL by the current account value, so accounts emptied after a win top it with ROI in the
trillions and a null pnl_pct.
# the ROI board, dominated by near-zero accounts
curl -H "X-API-Key: $VIKE_API_KEY" \
"https://data.vike.io/v1/hyperliquid/leaderboard?window=30d&sort=roi&min_trades=0&limit=5"A real sample instead. Raise min_trades and the same sort returns wallets with a record to judge.
# biggest PnL per trade among wallets with 30+ closed trades in 7 days
curl -H "X-API-Key: $VIKE_API_KEY" \
"https://data.vike.io/v1/hyperliquid/leaderboard?window=7d&sort=expectancy&min_trades=30&limit=25"Before you rely on it
A newcomer here is new to this dataset
first_trade_ts is the first trade in the recorded history, not the wallet's first trade ever, so an old account can
look new. A profit_factor of 999 means no losing trade closed in the window, not a measured ratio, and the trade
count is round trips, not fills: this one trade took 24,210 fills. Follow a wallet only after it has a sample you would
accept from yourself.
