Poll every Hyperliquid coin once a minute and flag volume spikes
Call /v1/hyperliquid/ohlcv/latest once a minute; it returns the newest 1-minute candle of every symbol that traded in the last hour, and you compare each candle's volume_usd with that symbol's own recent median.
GET /v1/hyperliquid/ohlcv/latest answers it in one call per minute: the newest 1-minute candle of every symbol that
traded in the last 60 minutes, on every dex, with volume_usd and n_trades. Poll it once a minute, keep a short history of
volume_usd per symbol on your side, and flag a symbol whose newest minute is several times its own median. One call
covers every coin, so the poll uses 1 of the 200 requests per minute the key allows. The full parameter list is on
Latest candle of every coin.
Quick answer
Run it once a minute, at the same second each time.
# the newest 1-minute candle of every perp on every dex: run this once a minute
curl -H "X-API-Key: $VIKE_API_KEY" \

Captured from the live API on 2026-10-24 at 17:16 UTC, trimmed to 3 of 594 candles.
volume_usd is the minute's traded notional in USD and n_trades its trade count. All three rows carry ts
1792862160000, 17:16 UTC: the capture was taken at 17:16:54, so these are the minute in progress. In that capture
MORPHO had the third-largest minute of the venue, after BTC and ETH.

# the newest candle of every XYZ market
curl -H "X-API-Key: $VIKE_API_KEY" \
"https://data.vike.io/v1/hyperliquid/ohlcv/latest?dex=XYZ"Seed the baseline for one coin. Load the last hour of minutes instead of waiting an hour before the first test; the newest one may still be forming.

curl -H "X-API-Key: $VIKE_API_KEY" \
"https://data.vike.io/v1/hyperliquid/ohlcv?symbol=BTC&interval=1m&limit=60"Confirm a flagged minute. When a symbol flags, read its last few minutes before you act on it; all but the newest are closed.

The newest candle is usually still forming
The route returns each symbol's newest minute, and on any active coin that is the minute in progress, with partial
volume. Poll at the same second of every minute, so every reading covers the same share of its minute, and compare
like with like. Confirm a flagged symbol with /ohlcv?interval=1m, whose earlier minutes are closed.
A quiet symbol drops out of the list
Only symbols with a trade in the last 60 minutes are listed. A symbol that goes quiet for an hour disappears instead
of showing zeros, and when it trades again its first minute has no baseline. Require some minutes of history per
symbol before you flag it, and treat a missing row as zero volume, not as missing data. Rows named # and a number
are outcome contracts priced between 0 and 1, not coin perps: drop them or watch them separately.
Ask your agent
No MCP tool returns every symbol's newest minute in one call; hl_ohlcv reads one
symbol per call, at 1 credit a call, which suits the confirmation step.
